Akhilesh Yadav on Nepal Unrest: Nepal's political turmoil has taken a fresh twist as the leadership name has not been announced yet, after the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The situation Nepal is worsening as the Gen Z protest is intensifying with each passing day. The death toll in Nepal has reached 51 and several people are injured. The terror has affected several areas of Indo-Nepal border as well.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made appeal to the people in Nepal to support peace. In his X post PM Modi said,''On my return from Himachal Pradesh and Punjab today, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security discussed the developments in Nepal. The violence in Nepal is heart-rending. I am anguished that many young people have lost their lives. The stability, peace and prosperity of Nepal are of utmost importance to us. I humbly appeal to all my brothers and sisters in Nepal to support peace.''

And now Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav gave his reaction to the ongoing unrest in the neighbouring country without taking any name. Akhilesh Yadav said if such vote theft happens in India, people may be seen on streets in India too. His statement read as, "If such vote rigging happens here, people may take to the streets just like in neighbouring countries."
He said, "It's the Election Commission's responsibility to ensure that no vote is stolen anywhere... Everyone knows that when they couldn't win elections through vote theft, they tried to stop the vote with the power of a revolver."
"If such incidents happen, it's possible that people here might take to the streets, just like what happened in our neighbouring countries," he added.
Amid the escalating unrest in Nepal, meeting on Nepal's interim leader with the Army Chief concluded today. It is to be noted that discussions with various other groups, political parties and constitutional are still to be held. Several names for the frontrunner of Nepal's PM surfaced including Kulman Ghising and Suhila Karki.
