National News: A heartbreaking incident in the Sanganer Sadar police station area of Jaipur has shocked people. During the cleaning of a chemical tank late at night, four laborers died on the spot due to sudden poisonous gas, while two others were seriously ill and hospitalized. The accident not only highlights the ignoring of the safety of the workers but also exposes serious flaws in industrial safety standards.
The incident took place in the basement of a jewelry factory in Sanganer, where six laborers landed to clean the chemical tank. Suddenly poisonous gas spread inside the tank, causing the breath of four laborers to stop.
Two more workers have been urgently admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The police immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations, but the damage is extremely deep. The identification of the deceased is ongoing, and the administration has initiated measures to provide financial assistance to their families.
This incident suggests how important it is to follow the security rules in industries. Cleaning in such a deadly situation is gross negligence without a proper gas mask or ventilation. The question arises whether the factory management made any concrete arrangements for the safety of the workers. If not, the responsible officers and industry owners will have to answer this. The police immediately called the team of FSL (Forensic Science Lab) and started trying to get to the bottom of the incident. This team will identify the type of chemical in the tank and uncover the true causes of the accident. It will be revealed only after the investigation report comes out whether the accident was natural or there was any negligence or violation. Appropriate action will be taken by fixing its accountability.
A few days ago, a similar accident occurred in Karaninagar Industrial Area of Bikaner, in which three workers died of suffocation. Such continuous accidents are indications that even adequate awareness and resources are not being given about labor security. This is a big challenge that will have to resolve both the industry and the government together.
This painful accident is not just a tragedy but a warning that if labor safety is not given the top priority, then we will continue to lose. The administration should conduct strict inspections in all industrial units, ensure compulsory availability of safety equipment, and provide security training to the workers. Along with this, industry owners should also work, keeping in mind human values, and make every possible arrangement for the safety of workers.
