National News: This time in Mumbai, there is no heat of May, but a flood of water is overshadowed. The scene that the city saw on Monday night was more dangerous than the normal monsoon. About 13-foot-high waves that arose with a high tide of 4.1 meters in the sea shocked the Mumbaikars. According to the IMD, it is the most fierce rain of May in the last 107 years.

Rain havoc; Mumbai's speed stopped

The torrential rains, which started late Sunday night, did not stop even on Monday. From Worli Metro station to Hindmata, Andheri Sabway, and Sion-Kings Circle, areas were completely submerged in water. Local trains stopped, the metro stations had to be closed, and people were stuck in homes instead of going to the office.

The power lines were disturbed; there were reports of short circuits in more than 18 places. IMD has also issued a yellow alert on Tuesday, while there is an orange alert in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. The next two days are considered very sensitive.

Chief Minister on alert, administration in high gear

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the state government has put all the districts on alert. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis himself is keeping an eye on the situation. He has instructed all the district collectors that immediate relief and panchnama work should be started in areas where there is damage.

Houses have been damaged due to heavy rains in districts like Baramati, Solapur, and Pune, and more than 70 families have been shifted to safe places.

Monsoon's untimely knock in Mumbai

Every year in the first week of June, Mumbai waits for the monsoon, but this time the rain knocked 12 days ago. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon entered Maharashtra on 25 May, and its northern boundary has reached Sindhudurg. It is estimated that the monsoon will be fully active in Mumbai within three days.

Traffic jams, waterlogging and bad life

The drainage is completely stalled due to metro construction in the city and incomplete cleaning of drains. Rainwater is flowing on the roads; traffic remained stuck in a jam for hours. This rain is no less than a disaster for Mumbaikars.

Even more heavy on the coming days

According to the IMD, the speed of rain will be faster by May 29. Due to high tide in the sea, flood-like situations can occur in the low-lying areas of the city. Administration and NDRF teams are attentive, but when the situation gets out of control, it cannot be said
