India Requests MLAT Assistance from Singapore to Investigate Singer Jubin Garg’s Death (X)
Zubben Garg Death Updates: The central government has sent an official request to Singapore authorities under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) for assistance in the investigation into the death of singer Zubeen Garg.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on X, "The Ministry of Home Affairs has formally invoked the MLAT based on the FIR related to the unfortunate death of our beloved Zubeen."
The Govt of Assam has submitted a formal request to the Ministry of Home Affairs to invoke the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Singapore in connection with the unfortunate demise of our beloved Zubeen.

The treaty took place between India and Singapore in 2005. Its purpose is to provide a legal framework for cooperation to the investigating officers of both countries in criminal cases. Under this, evidence can be collected in cases like suspected death, fraud, cyber crime, money laundering or drug trafficking in foreign countries.
