Crime News: Police in Narsinghpur district uncovered a shocking murder plot that revolved around betrayal, blackmail, and revenge. A married woman, identified as Nidhi Sahu, was allegedly trapped in an illicit relationship with her brother-in-law, Srujan Sahu. According to investigators, when Srujan began blackmailing her by threatening to leak private videos from before her marriage, the situation escalated into a deadly conspiracy. Unable to free herself from his clutches, she decided to take an extreme step that stunned both police and locals in the district.
Nidhi Sahu, married only five months earlier, reportedly tried distancing herself from Srujan. However, his continuous threats pushed her to desperation. Police sources revealed that she confessed during interrogation that she had been blackmailed for weeks. Srujan allegedly demanded favors and used past intimate videos to exert pressure. Terrified of her marriage breaking apart and her reputation being destroyed, Nidhi started looking for a way out. That’s when she stumbled upon murder ideas through short video reels circulating on social media.
According to police statements, Nidhi not only planned but also arranged tools for the crime. She purchased two knives and hid them under her bed. To execute the murder, she contacted an acquaintance named Sahil and offered him ₹50,000 as payment. Investigators claim that she initially gave him ₹10,000 cash and later pledged her gold earrings to cover the rest of the promised amount. This clear financial arrangement made Sahil an active participant in the gruesome act that would soon follow.
On October 25, Nidhi lured Srujan into accompanying her for an outing. Together with Sahil, they traveled in a shift car toward a forested area. While Srujan drove, Sahil pretended they needed to pick up another friend. At that point, Nidhi suddenly attacked, stabbing Srujan in the neck multiple times. Sahil joined in, inflicting further fatal blows. Within moments, the man collapsed, bleeding heavily. After ensuring his death, the duo tried concealing the crime by hiding his body under a pile of large stones in the jungle.
The disappearance of Srujan quickly raised suspicion. His family lodged a missing complaint at Mugwani police station. Superintendent of Police Dr. Rishikesh Meena informed that during the probe, officers traced Srujan’s mobile location near a jungle. CCTV footage further revealed a woman wearing a face mask inside a shift car, later identified as Nidhi. After extensive searches, special teams discovered the decomposed body hidden beneath stones, confirming the worst fears of the victim’s relatives and validating investigators’ suspicions about a carefully executed plan.
The police wasted no time in arresting the culprits. Nidhi Sahu, her associate Sahil, and one minor accomplice were taken into custody. During interrogation, Nidhi confessed her role, revealing the entire chain of planning and motive. The shocking element of this case was her open admission that she had borrowed murder ideas from reels and short videos trending on the internet. The case has now sparked a debate about the impact of violent social media content on impressionable minds, especially those already under stress.
The incident has horrified residents of Narsinghpur and beyond. What began as a hidden affair spiraled into a story of blackmail, desperation, and cold-blooded murder. Authorities have described it as a cautionary tale about how personal mistakes, when combined with digital threats, can lead to devastating outcomes. The case also highlights how platforms designed for entertainment can sometimes serve as dark guides for criminal acts. While police continue their investigation, the tragedy stands as a stark warning that secrets, lies, and online influence can together destroy multiple lives.
