New Delhi: Upon assuming the position of BJP National President, Nitin Naveen made a series of swift decisions on his very first day. He appointed senior leader Vinod Tawde as the election in-charge for the Kerala Assembly elections and as the observer for the Chandigarh mayoral elections.

What are the BJP appointments?

Shobha Karandlaje was appointed as the co-in-charge alongside him. It is worth noting that his appointment as National President was formally announced on Tuesday. However, it had become clear after his appointment as working president that Nitin Naveen would be taking complete charge of the BJP.

According to an order issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Ashish Shelar has been given the responsibility of election in-charge for the Telangana municipal and local body elections, while Ashok Parnami and Rekha Sharma have been appointed as co-in-charges. In addition, senior leader Ram Madhav has been appointed as the in-charge for the Greater Bengaluru municipal elections. Satish Poonia and Sanjay Upadhyay have been assigned the responsibility of co-in-charges alongside him.

What was the message for the youth?

After the announcement of his name as the 12th National President of the party at the BJP headquarters, Naveen addressed a program. He called upon party leaders and workers to make every possible effort to ensure the BJP's success in the upcoming assembly elections in five states, including West Bengal, to protect "Sanatan traditions and faith," and to safeguard the country from demographic changes.

He said, “On August 15, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon the youth of the country to enter public life. I want to tell the youth of the country that staying away from politics is not the solution, but active participation is the solution.” Naveen said that to fulfill Prime Minister Modi's resolve to make India a developed nation, the youth need to come forward and participate in "positive politics."

He said, “I would also like to tell the youth that there are no shortcuts in politics. Politics is not a hundred-meter race, but a marathon, where endurance is tested, not speed. Come forward and work on this political field while staying rooted in your traditions.”
