National News: A major discussion will take place in the Lok Sabha today regarding the recent Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The debate is scheduled to begin at 12 noon and is expected to continue for nearly 16 hours. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will open the discussion, and as per reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to participate.

High-Level Meetings Before the Discussion

Before the parliamentary debate, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held multiple rounds of meetings with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and the chiefs of all three armed forces. These meetings were held to review security matters and coordinate key details ahead of the session.

Congress Issues Whip to Its MPs

The Congress party has issued a three-day whip to all its Lok Sabha members, asking them to remain present in the House from Monday onward. According to the whip, attendance is mandatory for Congress MPs during this critical period.

In the first week of the Monsoon Session, several discussions were stalled due to opposition protests over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar and other issues. The party now aims to ensure full participation from its members during the ongoing session.

Over 100 Terrorists Killed in Operation Sindoor

Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Army launched a major strike targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan itself on the night of May 6–7. This operation was named Operation Sindoor.

According to defense sources, the Indian forces successfully destroyed multiple terror hideouts, killing more than 100 terrorists. This bold move was seen as a strong message to those attempting to destabilize India’s internal security.

This high-stakes discussion in Parliament is being closely watched, as it addresses both national security and India's response to cross-border terrorism. Both citizens and political analysts are closely watching the government's stance and the opposition's response.
