New Delhi: Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi now targeted former promises by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, that would make Delhi look as beautiful as the Paris, London and all the other capitals in the run-up to the impending Delhi Assembly polls. According to his post, this is one of the issues that his city currently faces regarding its cleanliness; he also claimed this does not quite agree with what Kejriwal had earlier promised.

Under sub-head 2,2019 promise V/s present reality

While he went campaigning for an election during Lok Sabha elections that took place the year 2019, Kejriwal told the people of Delhi he is going to clean up the city and was going to make Delhi so beautiful like other cities are Paris or London. This is a great difference between what was promised, and reality tells us pollution and garbage still covered areas of this city defeating his election agenda, once claimed to be true, by Kejriwal.

Rahul Gandhi Attacks Kejriwal's Administration

At a rally in Seelampur, Rahul Gandhi criticized the Delhi government’s failure to address issues like pollution and corruption, blaming Kejriwal for not fulfilling his commitments. Gandhi also compared Kejriwal’s situation with Prime Minister Modi’s false promises, accusing both leaders of engaging in "propaganda" to mislead the public.

Kejriwal Responds to Gandhi’s Attacks

He has returned with some sharp ripostes to the criticism hurled by Gandhi that his fight is not to survive politically but make the country better. While the Congress party seeks to stay alive, Kejriwal again clarified that his stress is on results to reforms for Delhi.

With the Delhi Assembly elections knocking at the door, the political rhetoric on issues like cleanliness, corruption, and governance has begun to get shriller. The leaders are trading barbs ahead of the February 5 election.
