PM Modi's Big Boost for Mizoram (Social Media)
National News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his two-day Northeast tour. Due to bad weather on the first day of the tour, he had to address the public meeting from the airport of the capital, Aizawl. During this, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 9000 crore. PM Modi inaugurated the Bairabi-Sairang railway line, connecting Mizoram to other parts of the country through the railway network. This has proved to be a milestone in the history of the state, as for the first time Mizoram has got the facility of direct train service from Delhi.
The Prime Minister flagged off three new trains from Aizawl. The main train among these is the Aizawl-Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express, which will run once a week. The second train will run between Sairang-Kolkata and it will operate three days a week. The third train will run on the Sairang-Guwahati route. With this, now this important region of the Northeast is directly connected to the national capital, Delhi, which is expected to accelerate the movement of people and business activities.
Addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said, "I bow to the supreme god Pathian, by whose grace this beautiful land of blue mountains has been blessed. Due to bad weather, I could not come among you, but from here I can feel your love and affection."
He said that Mizoram has an important contribution in the development of India and today is a historic day not only for the state but for the entire nation.
"A few years ago I had the opportunity to lay the foundation stone of the Aizawl railway line and today this dream has come true. The Bairabi-Sairiang railway line has been completed after overcoming many challenges. The hard work of our engineers and workers made it possible." PM Modi also said that this is not just a railway line, but it is a "lifeline of change." This will help the farmers and businessmen of Mizoram to reach the big markets of the country. Opportunities for education and health services will increase and new doors of employment will open.
The Prime Minister said that in the last eleven years, the central government has worked continuously for the development of the Northeast. Now this region is becoming the "growth engine" of India. He informed us that in recent years, many states of the Northeasthave been connected to India's railway network. Along with this, facilities like rural roads, highways, mobile and internet connectivity, electricity, drinking water and LPG connections have expanded rapidly. Modi announced that helicopter services will also be started in Mizoram soon.
"This will ensure better connectivity to the remote areas of the state and will make the travel of the people more convenient."
With these announcements of PM Modi, a new chapter of development of Mizoram has started, which will bring a big change in both the lifestyle and economy of the local people.
