Prime Minister Modi will reach Kangra in Himachal Pradesh at around 1:30 pm on Sunday. Here he will take information about the situation from the officials in a high-level meeting. Apart from this, he will meet the affected people and also talk to NDRF, SDRF and Disaster Mitra teams. Aerial Survey and Review in Punjab

After visiting Himachal, Prime Minister Modi will head to Punjab. He will reach Gurdaspur at 4:15 pm and will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas here. After this, he will review the status of relief work by holding a meeting with senior officials. PM Modi will meet the affected families and listen to their problems and interact with the relief workers to take stock of the progress made so far.

Opposition expressed concern

Leader of Opposition in Himachal Assembly and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has expressed deep concern over the devastation in the state. He said that Prime Minister Modi's visit is welcome. Thakur said, 'This disaster has shaken Himachal badly. There is hardly any district left where there has been no devastation. The damage is so huge that it will take many years for the state to recover.'

Expectations from the Centre

The local people and the government are hopeful that the Prime Minister's visit will speed up the relief package and help from the central level. The challenge of reconstruction and rehabilitation is huge in both the disaster-hit states. In such a situation, PM Modi's direct review and meeting with the affected families is likely to speed up the relief work. Experts believe that this visit will not only increase coordination in relief work but will also provide additional help as per the needs of the states.
