PM Narendra Modi Urges Productive Parliament Session, Says 'Facts Matter, Not Storms'

New Delhi: Before the beginning of the monsoon session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday appealed to all political parties to make the proceedings of the House meaningful and productive. Addressing the media in the Parliament House complex, he said that debate should be done with strong logic and facts and not through uproar. During this, he also praised India's space achievements and indirectly targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by mentioning the success of private space startup Skyroot Aerospace.

Why compare monsoon and Parliament?

In his address, Prime Minister Modi compared the monsoon and the monsoon session of Parliament and said that just as good rains are beneficial for the country and society, similarly if the Parliament session is also positive and productive, then the entire country benefits from it. He said that Parliament is the highest forum of democracy and here all parties should present their views on the basis of facts and arguments. According to him, where strong arguments and facts are present, there is no need for uproar.

Taking the name of Skyroot Aerospace, he said that the youth of India are now dreaming as big as space. Private companies are also making India proud in the world.

Giving the example of the team of Skyroot Aerospace, the Prime Minister said that he has been told that the average age of the people working in this startup is only 28 years. He said that such youth are taking the country to new heights. After this, without taking his name, he took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said, "I am not talking about a 56-year-old youth." This is being considered a direct political attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who is 56 years old.

Which important bills can the government bring?

The government is preparing to introduce several important bills in the monsoon session starting from July 20 to August 13. Prominent among them are Foreign Contribution Regulation (FCRA) Amendment Bill, Developed India Education Foundation Bill, Income Tax Amendment Bill, Supreme Court Amendment Bill and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Amendment Bill. Apart from this, amendments are also proposed in the Birth and Death Registration Act and the act related to prevention of insult to national honour.

This monsoon season is likely to be very hot. While the government will insist on passing its major bills, the opposition is preparing to corner the government on many national issues. In such a situation, heated debate and political conflict can be seen in both houses of Parliament.
