Actor Darshan, the central figure in the Renukaswamy murder case, has confessed to physically assaulting the victim and forcing him to apologise to his live-in partner, Pavithra Gowda. This startling revelation comes from the chargesheet filed by the Bengaluru Police.
Darshan, along with 16 accomplices, was apprehended in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. The body of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of Darshan, was discovered near a flyover in Bengaluru on June 9. It is alleged that Renukaswamy was kidnapped and murdered on Darshan’s orders following offensive messages he sent to Pavithra Gowda on social media.
The chargesheet reveals that Darshan was alerted to the kidnapping by Pavan, a household employee, at around 3 p.m. on June 8. By 4:30 p.m., Darshan, Pavithra, Pavan, and another accused, Pradosh, arrived at a shed in Pattangere where Renukaswamy was being held. At this point, Renukaswamy had already been assaulted.
According to the chargesheet, Darshan confronted Renukaswamy about the explicit messages sent to Pavithra. “I forcefully kicked his head, neck, and chest. I used a tree branch and my hands to assault him further,” Darshan admitted. He also revealed that he called Pavithra, who struck Renukaswamy with her slippers. When Darshan instructed Renukaswamy to apologise by falling at Pavithra’s feet, he complied.
Pavithra Gowda corroborated the chargesheet, confirming she had beaten Renukaswamy with her slippers. “I am Darshan’s girlfriend, and you are sending me obscene messages. You dared to send me nude pictures and asked for my rate,” she said.
Following the assault, Darshan stated he saw Renukaswamy in a battered state but left the scene. At around 7:30 p.m., Pradosh informed Darshan of Renukaswamy’s death. Darshan reported that at 9 p.m., Pradosh, Vinay, Nagaraj, and Lakshman visited his home, with Pradosh taking Rs 30 lakh initially and another Rs 10 lakh later, claiming to handle the situation.
