Punjab News: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made a strong commitment to Punjab’s flood-affected families. He announced that no victim will have to wait endlessly for relief as in previous governments. Within 45 days, compensation for crops, homes and livestock will be released. Mann declared this as Punjab’s most transparent and fastest-ever relief package.

Highest Compensation In History

The CM reminded people that the state will give ₹20,000 per acre to farmers, which is the highest amount ever in Punjab’s history. Earlier governments took years to release such relief, but Mann’s government has promised quick action. He said a farmer’s son understands pain and will not rest until all affected families get help.

Special Survey To Begin

Mann directed officials to start special crop damage surveys from September 13. Teams will visit every field and prepare reports within a fixed timeline. Farmers will get one week to raise objections if there are mistakes in the reports. For villages with 100% crop damage, checks will be distributed in just one month.

Relief For Homes And Families

The CM declared that damaged houses will also get compensation. Families whose houses collapsed completely will receive ₹1,20,000. Those with partial damage will get ₹40,000, far higher than the earlier ₹6,800 paid by past governments. This, Mann said, proves that the present government stands firmly with its people in every crisis.

Livestock Loss Also Covered

Not just crops and homes, but animal owners too will be supported. Mann explained that if a cow or buffalo dies, the government will give ₹37,500. If a goat dies, the family will get ₹4,000. Compensation for bulls, horses, poultry, fisheries and other animals will also be paid. Relief for such cases will begin from September 15.

Strict Monitoring By CM

The CM announced that he will personally monitor the entire relief operation daily. He warned that any officer delaying the process or doing wrong will face strict action. He also said 42 out of 55 families who lost loved ones have already received compensation, and the rest will be covered soon.

Punjab Government’s Wider Efforts

Mann said flood-hit families need more than just money. He ordered setting up medical camps in every village, fogging to control mosquitoes and strict water testing for clean drinking supply. He also promised to raise the demand before the Centre to declare Punjab a disaster-affected state for more funds. Roads, power supply and embankments are being repaired on priority.
