Punjab News: Taking a historic decision, the Punjab government has started the recruitment of 725 special educators in government schools. This will directly benefit more than 47 thousand special children. Of these, 393 posts are for the primary cadre and 332 for the master cadre. The online application process for these posts will run till 21 July 2025. This step has been taken to promote equality and inclusion in education. Special educators will teach children according to their needs.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that this decision was very important for those children who were not getting proper help in the general class till now. The government's aim is to complete the entire recruitment process in the next one and a half months. So that the teachers take up their positions before the start of the new session. These teachers will teach the children according to their understanding and needs. This will give the children a better experience in school.
A total of 4,000 special educator posts were approved in the cabinet meeting of the government. Out of these, 725 posts are being filled in the first phase. The remaining posts will be filled later. 1,950 posts have been approved for primary and 1,650 for master cadre. For these recruitments, the vacant posts of Art and Craft and ETT have been changed. The governor has approved these changes.
In this entire process, 75 percent of the posts will be filled through direct recruitment. The remaining 25 percent of posts will be filled by qualified employees through promotion. This arrangement has been made so that qualified staff can get their rights and external talent can also come in. This will maintain balance in recruitment. The government has said that it will soon give guidelines on the website in this regard.
90 percent of the posts for small children at the primary level will be filled through direct recruitment. Only 10 percent will be filled through promotion. Out of these 10 percent, 8 percent of the posts have been reserved for pre-primary school teachers and 2 percent for physical training instructors. This means that teachers already working in schools will also benefit. This will give equal opportunity to everyone.
The biggest benefit of this decision will be for those children who are dependent on others for education. Now every school will have a teacher who will understand them and teach them accordingly. This will increase their confidence, and they will also feel like going to school. Earlier they were either sent to a different school or ignored.
This entire scheme is a part of the government's inclusive education policy. In this, every child will get equal rights. Education is not just a job of teaching books, but it is a responsibility to take every child along. Keeping this in mind, these changes are being made. The government wants that no child should be left behind.
