National News: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will launch a special campaign in Bihar on Sunday to protest against alleged “vote theft.” The march, called the ‘Voter Rights Yatra,’ will also focus on issues related to the revision of voter lists in the state.

Rahul Gandhi will be joined by former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav along with several senior leaders of the INDIA alliance.

Covering 20 Districts in 16 Days

This yatra will stretch over 16 days, crossing 20 districts and covering nearly 1,300 kilometers. Sharing details on social media, Rahul said the march is meant to protect the principle of “one person, one vote” and called on people to join in the fight to safeguard the Constitution.

Congress Raises Concerns Over Voter Rights

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera strongly criticized the Election Commission, saying it should not act as an extension of the ruling party. He argued that the right to vote is the foundation of freedom in independent India and accused the government of trying to silence Dalits, minorities, and weaker sections of society by limiting their voting rights.

According to him, this campaign is not only about protecting votes but also about protecting the identity and participation of citizens in democracy.

Conclusion in Patna on September 1

The march will start from Sasaram and end on September 1 with a large public meeting at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Several national-level leaders from the INDIA bloc will address the rally.

Route of the March

The yatra will move through major districts including Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnia, Araria, Supaul, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Chhapra, and Arrah before reaching Patna.

Through this march, the Congress and its allies aim to send a clear message that free and fair elections are non-negotiable and that the right to vote must be fully protected for every citizen.
