National News: During his visit to Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a strong message on India’s progress and global standing, while indirectly aiming remarks at US President Donald Trump. Speaking at a public rally after laying the foundation stone for the country’s first rail and metro coach manufacturing facility—the Greenfield Rail Coach Manufacturing Centre—Singh said there are some global powers unhappy with the speed of India’s development.
Without naming anyone, he remarked, “Certain people think of themselves as the boss of the whole world. They are questioning how India is growing so quickly. Many of them are trying to ensure that goods made in India become more expensive than those made in their own countries so that people stop buying them. These efforts, however, will not succeed.”
Singh expressed firm confidence that despite such obstacles, no nation or alliance has the ability to stop India from becoming one of the most influential powers on the world stage.

The defense minister pointed out that in the past, India relied heavily on foreign countries for defense supplies. Items like fighter planes, advanced weapons, and military platforms were largely imported, along with foreign investment. This dependency is now changing rapidly. Singh proudly noted that today, most of these defense products are designed and built within India, by Indian hands, and are even being exported to other nations.
Highlighting the government’s success in boosting defense exports, Singh recalled that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi first assumed office, India’s annual defense exports were worth only around ₹600 crore. The figure has now soared past ₹24,000 crore, marking a remarkable and exponential growth. He described this achievement as a testament to the strength of “New India” and an indicator that the export trend will only grow further in the years ahead.
Singh also underlined India’s growing self-reliance in technology. Earlier, critical defense technologies were developed mainly in other countries. Today, Indian youth are creating similar advanced systems, which are being used in weapons, bombs, cannons, shells, and missiles. This, he said, marks a vital contribution to the nation’s security and development.
Referring to the Pahalgam incident, Singh stated that the opposing country believed India would remain silent and not respond. Instead, the government resolved to retaliate based on actions rather than identity. “We do not harm anyone without cause, but if provoked, we will not spare them,” Singh declared. Operation Sindoor, he added, sent a clear signal globally—India values peace, but it will firmly defend its sovereignty.
