Sudden Weather Twist in Delhi-NCR: Violent Dust Storm Triggers Red Alert, Gusts Touch 92 kmph (Pinterest)
New Delhi: Delhi-NCR Plunged into Darkness on the mid half of June 15. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a latest warning declaring 'Red Alert' for thunderstorms, Along with rain and gusty winds. This warning came following dusty wids across Delhi NCR.
According to IMD, the speed of winds are expected to be the range of 60-80 kmph. Safdurjung observatory reported at 02:30 PM that the strong gusts may possible. Palam reported the winds of upto 50 Knots. It is also reported that Isolated to scattered rainfall may occur between June 15 to June 22 in Delhi and nearby regions.
According to IMD, Thundersquall likely over west Uttar Pradesh. Wind speed reaching nearly 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph, likely over East Rajasthan, Haryana
Chandigarh & Delhi and Punjab on 15th June and West Rajasthan during 15th-16th June.
