The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alert for heavy rainfall in many states of the south including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala from June 10.

Expect relief from rain in southern states

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of torrential rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Karaikal and coastal Andhra Pradesh in South India from 10 June to 14 June. This rain can be due to monsoon activity. Farmers and water sources are expected to get relief due to rain. Also, the department has advised to be vigilant to prevent waterlogging and floods in these areas.

Thunder of clouds in Northeast, possibility of heavy rain

Heavy rains have been expected from 11 to 14 June in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya of Northeast India. Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram are expected to receive continuous rains from 10 to 13 June. During this time, there will be a danger of slipping and rising water levels in these areas, so people need to be cautious.

Light rain in central India, outbreak of heat continues in north

Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand are expected to have strong winds with light rain next week. At the same time, heat and heat will remain in North India due to high levels of temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and western Rajasthan. According to the IMD, the heatwave will be affected for the next four to five days, after which the change in weather is possible.

Rapid heat in Delhi, advice for people to be vigilant

The temperature is continuously increasing in the capital Delhi too. The maximum temperature was recorded at around 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The heat can increase further due to strong sunlight and hot winds on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has advised Delhiites to avoid getting out in the sun and drink enough water.

Monsoon position and further forecast

This year the monsoon has already knocked in Kerala, but its pace remains slow at the moment. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will be active again next week and will start spreading throughout the country. Normally the monsoon reaches the whole of India by the beginning of July, which provides relief in summer.
