Tauqeer Raza Case: After friday's violence in Bareilly, UP police took major action. Head of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan was arrested by police. And now after his arrest, hotel Skylark, in which Maulana Tauqeer Raza stayed has been sealed by the officials.

Earlier, Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya stated that Tauqeer Raza has been arrested and further investigation is underway. He added that the condition in Bareilly is under control. 

Meanwhile, due to the 'I Love Muhammad' campaign, Muslim organisation Jamaat-e-Islami Hind condemned his arrest in Bareilly. The organisation also alleged "misuse" of state machinery for political ends. They further stated that law and order were allegedly misued "communal polarisation".

The president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, strongly condemned the "unjust arrest" of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan and others in Bareilly.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's statement

Meanwhile, chief minister Yogi Adityanath earlier responding to the same at an event in Lucknow, said “a maulana in Bareilly forgot who holds power in the state” and assumed “he could disrupt the system at will.” “We made it clear that there will be no blockade and no curfew.” 

Deputy inspector general of police Ajay Kumar Sahni statement

Deputy inspector general of police (Bareilly Range) Ajay Kumar Sahni said that social, “A large number of weapons and stones have been recovered from the protestors... Police personnel were fired at and stones were also pelted... 22 policemen have been injured. Empty shells, cartridges, pistols, and broken glass bottles have been recovered from the protest site.”
