New Delhi: A young woman caring for stray animals in Delhi's Raghubir Nagar was brutally attacked by a man on May 14. Manisha Solanki, a resident of the area, was feeding nearly 150 strays when a man working at a nearby shop confronted her.
The incident, captured on video and shared by Manisha on social media, shows a harrowing scene. The man, identified as Sonu in a police complaint, approaches the dogs with a stick and starts hitting them. Manisha attempts to intervene, pleading with Sonu to stop as the dogs cry out in pain.
The video reveals a disturbing detail – the stick used by Sonu has nails, inflicting severe injuries on one of the dogs.
Manisha narrated the incident on Instagram, highlighting the cruelty against the defenseless animals. She further revealed being attacked herself while trying to protect the dogs.
"We were beaten up badly," Manisha says in a video, bleeding and visibly shaken. "Nobody is helping us. Nobody is standing in our support."
Following the attack, Manisha's mother registered a police complaint (FIR) against Sonu. The FIR details the attack on the dogs and Manisha, along with the alleged use of derogatory language and death threats by Sonu.
Manisha's video has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and support from animal lovers. The incident raises concerns about animal cruelty and the safety of those who care for them.
