ISLAMABAD/DHAKA: Weeks ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made a formal request to shift its scheduled matches in India to a neutral country, citing security concerns. BCB has said that this step is necessary in view of recent developments and concerns being raised regarding the safety of players. The tension increased further in the incident, especially after fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was removed from the IPL.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) sent a formal request to the International Cricket Council. It was said that players do not feel safe.
