Rahul also openly praised Shubman Gill's captaincy. He said, "Shubman led brilliantly. He always handled the team and took the right decisions on the field. His changes often got us wickets. He has not come here just to captain but to play a long innings. He has tremendous talent, and he will take this team to new heights."
India's fast bowlers did wonders on the last day of the match. Yesterday the game was halted due to bad light and rain, but this morning all the bowlers came on the field with new energy. Jamie Smith was caught behind the wicket, Overton was LBW, and the last two batsmen were bowled out with excellent yorkers.
Earlier, Joe Root scored a brilliant century and paid tribute to his coach, Graham Thorpe. Brooke also got out early after scoring a century. In a match in which defeat was considered certain, India made a strong comeback on the last day and leveled the series.
