New Delhi: Indian cricket team's star batsman Smriti Mandhana shared a promotional video on Instagram for the first time after postponing her wedding. The ad was for a toothpaste brand, but what first caught fans' eyes was what wasn't visible in the video—her engagement ring. As soon as the post surfaced, discussion intensified on social media whether this video was old, or whether she deliberately did not wear the ring.

Why was the marriage postponed?

Smriti and musician Palash Muchhal's wedding was scheduled to take place on November 23 in Sangli. On the same day, Smriti's father's health suddenly deteriorated and he had to be admitted to the hospital. Amidst this tension, the next day Palash himself was admitted due to health problem. Both the families together decided that it would not be appropriate to get married at such a time, so the ceremony was postponed indefinitely.

Palak Muchhal's sister Palak Muchhal clearly said that both the families are going through difficult times and their priority at the moment is health. He also added that any kind of discord within the family is not right at all and only personal time is needed. Smriti's brother Shravan Mandhana also told that the date of the new marriage has not been decided yet and any kind of rumors should be ignored.
