Ahmedabad: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson missed out on a century in the T20 World Cup 2026 final. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 89 runs. While attempting a six, Sanju was caught on the boundary line. Previously, Sanju had missed out on centuries in the virtual quarter-final against the West Indies and then in the semi-final against England.

Sanju Samson scored 321 runs in this T20 World Cup. These runs came from Sanju's bat in just five matches. His average was 80 and strike rate was 199.

Sanju Samson has also become the batsman with the most innings in a T20 World Cup final. In his 46-ball innings, Sanju hit 5 fours and 8 sixes. Previously, this record was held by Marlon Samuels of the West Indies and Kane Williamson of New Zealand. Samuels scored 85 runs against England in 2016. Kane Williamson hit 85 runs in the 2021 final against Australia.
