Indian team hopes to win its first World Cup (PTI)
Women's Cricket World Cup 2025: ICC The Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 is starting from today. In the inaugural match, India will play against Sri Lanka in Guwahati. This time the tournament matches will be played in Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Navi Mumbai, while some matches will be played at R.K. Premdasa Stadium. There will be a total of 28 group matches in the tournament, which will be played in the round-robin format. Australia has won 7 titles so far and is the most successful team. England has won 4 titles, while India is still looking to win its first World Cup.
Most of the matches will start at 3 pm Indian time. The semifinals will be played on 29 and 30 October, and the final will be held on 2 November. The first semi-final and final place will depend on whether Pakistan qualifies. If Pakistan plays, the match will be in Colombo; otherwise, the first semi-finals will be held in Guwahati and the final in Navi Mumbai. The second semi-finals will be held in Navi Mumbai.
India will play 7 group matches. The team will play its first match in Guwahati against Sri Lanka on 30 September. The most discussed match will be played in Colombo on 5 October: India vs. Pakistan.
Team India hopes to win its first Women's World Cup. Yastika Bhatia is out of the tournament due to injury. Harmanpreet Kaur and Mithali Raj are India's highest run-scorers in the T20 World Cup. Harmanpreet has scored 726 runs in 33 innings, while Smriti Mandhana has scored 524 runs in 25 innings. Mithali Raj is India's biggest run-getter in ODI format (at number two in the world)—1,321 runs in 36 innings.
