Caught On Cam: 3 Women Steal Undergarments Worth Rs 10,000 From Varanasi Store (X)
Varanasi: In a shocking incident from the Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, three women, including the president of a women's traders' body, were allegedly caught stealing undergarments, which were reportedly worth Rs 10,000, from a clothing store in broad daylight. The incident which was captured in the CCTV camera of the shop has now spread widely on social media.
The shocking case of theft happened at a store in the Lahurabir area of Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on February 24 around 7 pm.
According to reports, the women entered the store pretending to shop for clothes but CCTV cameras installed inside the shop captured them concealing items in their bags before leaving the premises.
Based on a complaint filed by the shop owner an FIR has been registered under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code based on a complaint filed by the shop owner.
Sudip Singh, proprietor of the store, in the written complaint stated that "three women entered his shop and allegedly stole goods worth approximately Rs 10,000 on the evening of February 24."
The complainant said that the entire episode was recorded on CCTV installed inside the store and also shared that he has submitted three video clips as evidence.

In the video, one woman can be seen talking to the sales assistant, while the other two accused can be seen placing items into their bags when the staff member walks away.
Later in the video, the women can be seen leaving the shop. The alleged theft came to light when the shopkeeper checked inventory and reviewed the CCTV recordings.
The theft accused has been identified as Sunita Soni, who is the president of the Varanasi Mahila Vyapar Mandal, and a former brand ambassador of the Varanasi Municipal Corporation.
After the video went viral, Sunita Soni denied her involvement in the theft and said that she happened to meet the other two women on the way.
Soni also claimed that they were responsible for the theft and further stated that she would ensure the items are returned.
