New Delhi: On Sunday, the news of three dead bodies being found in a white Tata Tigor car near Peeragarhi flyover in Delhi created a stir in the entire area. The car was standing in the service lane for several hours. When people passing by became suspicious, they peeped in and saw that all three people seemed unconscious. When the police got information, the team arrived and upon investigation it was found that all three were dead.
76-year-old Randhir Singh was sitting in the driving seat, 47-year-old property dealer Shiv Naresh Singh was sitting in the adjacent seat and 40-year-old Lakshmi Devi was sitting in the back seat. The car was registered in the name of an elderly person. Both the men were residents of Baprola village and knew each other. Lakshmi Devi was a resident of Jahangirpuri, she worked as a caregiver and was acquainted with Shiva Naresh.
Police interrogated five people during the investigation, including a 'baba' (tantrik or spiritual person). CCTV footage and initial investigation revealed that the three had met this baba a day before the incident. The police have not yet been able to decide whether they have a direct connection with this case or not, but efforts are on to connect every link. Baba is being detained and interrogated.
No signs of assault or external injury were found inside the car. Police suspect that all three may have taken poison. A plastic bottle and some glasses were recovered from the car, which contained traces of poisonous substance. The initial investigation by the doctors is also showing the same thing. There was also a poisonous smell in the car. A clear picture will emerge only after the postmortem report comes.
Police are investigating from both suicide and murder angles. The car remained parked for about five hours, no one was seen coming or going around. But the family is not ready to accept suicide. The elder's daughter said that her father was completely normal and could not have taken such a step. The brother of the other person clearly said that it could be murder. The police are investigating every aspect in depth—looking at forensic reports, CCTV, mobile data. No clue of theft or robbery has been found so far, but it will take time for the truth to emerge.
This case is still mysterious, but the police is trying its best to bring out the truth.
