In Maharashtra’s Mumbai, the manager and chief of a popular restaurant in the Bandra area has been charged after a customer found a dead rat in his chicken dish.

The police have filed a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code and initiated a probe into this bizarre matter.

The complainant, Anurag Singh told police that he had gone to a restaurant in Pali Hill, Bandra West, with his friend to have a meal. They ordered a chicken and mutton thali (platter) with bread.

While having the meal, they notice that a piece of meat tasted different. Upon a closer look, they found a small rat. Then, Anurag asked the restaurant manager about it, however, he gave an evasive response. Amid this incident, Anurag Singh complained to the Bandra police station.

Following Singh’s complaint, the police lodged a case against the restaurant manager, Vivian Albert Shikaver, the chef at the hotel at that time, and the chicken supplier.

Meanwhile, the police are looking into this matter and investigations are on.
