NEET UG Re-Exam Cheating: Jaipur Girl Caught Hiding Phone in Undergarments, Sent to Judicial Custody (X)

Jaipur: During the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination in Jaipur, a 22-year-old girl, who was accused of using a mobile phone for cheating at a centre in Bindayaka area in Jaipur, as produced before a court on Monday and sent to judicial custody.

What is the case?

On Sunday, a girl, who is identified as Himanshi Tiwari, a resident of Prem Nagar in the city’s Gurjar Ki Thadi, was caught cheating during the examination with a mobile phone at the Bindayaka exam center and was produced before court on Monday, where she was sent to judicial custody. 

According to the police, teachers present in the examination hall found the student's activities suspicious. Upon checking, a mobile phone was allegedly recovered from her possession.

The investigation revealed that the student had hidden the phone in her undergarments beneath her shirt, to avoid security checks. Most shockingly, the student told the police that she had brought the mobile phone with her with the intention of using AI to find answers to exam questions.

What did the official say?

Preliminary investigations revealed that images of the NEET question paper were also recovered from the mobile phone, but the jammers prevented those images from being sent outside.

DCP West Prashant Kiran said that the device was seized and police have initiated the process of sending it for forensic examination. The investigation report will clarify whether the mobile phone was used solely to search for answers or whether an attempt was also made to transmit the question paper information to an outsider. The forensic investigation will now be the most crucial aspect of this entire case.
