CM Yogi Adityanath Expresses Grief Over Sudden Demise Of Mulayam Singh Yadav's Younger Son Prateek (X)

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday expressed grief over the death of Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late  Samajwadi Party founder and former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister called it “extremely heartbreaking” and extending condolences to the family.

What did Yogi Adityanath say?

Expressing condolences over the passing away of Prateek Yadav, who is the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that praying for strength to help them cope with the loss.

In a post on X, Yogi Adityanath wrote, "The sudden demise of Prateek Yadav, son of former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and husband of Aparna Yadav, Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, is extremely heartbreaking. My condolences are with the bereaved family."

When did Prateek passed away?

Prateek Yadav passed away on Wednesday morning. According to sources, after his health suddenly deteriorated around 6 am, he was taken to Lucknow's Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. 

According to reports, he had been ill for several days and was admitted to Lucknow's Medanta Hospital some time ago. 

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also visited him during his treatment. He was later brought home after his health improved.

Who is Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger son?

Prateek Yadav is the younger son of Samajwadi Party founder and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife Sadhana Gupta. He is the stepbrother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

He has always stayed away from active politics and is primarily involved in business. Prateek, who is known for his high-profile lifestyle, often draws attention because of his collection of luxury cars, owning several high-end vehicles. 

Who is Aparna Yadav?

Aparna Yadav, who is the younger daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav, joined the BJP just weeks before the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

When the wife of Akhilesh Yadav's brother Prateek Yadav, left the Samjawadi Party and joined Saffron party, BJP leaders, welcomed her to the party, referring to her as "Mulayam Singh's bahu (daughter-in-law)".
