Heavy Rain Triggers Divider Collapse Near Noida Sector 16 Metro Pillar, One Injured (X)
Noida: A major accident was averted near Noida's Sector 16 Metro Station. Amid the heavy rainfall in the Delhi-NCR, a divider beneath the metro station reportedly collapsed, leaving one injured. As per the reports, the divider beneath the metro station pillar suddenly collapsed due to the heavy rain, leading to panic among the locals.
According to people present at the scene, a portion of the divider beneath the Sector 16 Metro Station suddenly collapsed during or shortly after the rain. The accident caused a brief period of panic in the area. People nearby immediately informed the police and administration.

The authorities, upon receiving the information, arrived at the site and took information from the eyewitnesses. The ACP personally inspected the scene of the incident, while the relevant Station House Officer (SHO) was also present. Officials secured the area and controlled traffic to prevent any further accidents.
Noida Authority officials have also inspected the scene and launched an investigation into the cause of the divider collapse. They are currently investigating whether the divider weakened due to the rain or some other reason. The administration has also begun assessing the collapsed portion.
Meanwhile, continuous rain in Noida resulted in waterlogging in many areas. Waterlogging on many roads slowed vehicles and caused traffic problems. Waterlogging under overbridges also disrupted traffic. The rain certainly brought relief from the humidity and heat.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued an Orange alert for several regions of the national capital and nearby regions. While the heavy rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat, it is also likely to cause waterlogging in several regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters.
The IMD issued an orange alert in areas incuding: North Delhi, Central Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, North East Delhi, Shahadara, North Delhi, Central Delhi,East Delhi, West Delhi.
