Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government will provide over 150,000 government jobs during the current financial year. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this information on Sunday while distributing appointment letters to 357 Junior Drug Analysts and 252 Dental Hygienists at Lok Bhawan. During the event, he took the Samajwadi Party (SP) government to task for the irregularities committed in recruitment processes prior to 2017. Yogi stated that dishonesty and corruption in recruitment had rendered the state "BIMARU" (backward and ailing).

What did Yogi Adityanath say?

Yogi Adityanath remarked that over 900,000 government jobs have been provided over the last nine years. This constitutes a record for any state in successfully and transparently completing the process of the highest number of appointments. The Chief Minister stated that the process for over 150,000 government recruitments is scheduled to be completed within the current financial year. The Subordinate Services Selection Commission will make over 32,000 appointments this year. The Education Services Selection Commission will complete the recruitment process for thousands of teachers. The UP Public Service Commission is tasked with conducting approximately 15,000 recruitments. Examinations have already been conducted for the recruitment of 45,000 personnel for the posts of Sub-Inspector (SI) and Home Guard. Additionally, the recruitment process for another 45,000 positions is currently underway.

The Chief Minister emphasized that strict laws have been enacted to prevent any tampering or irregularities in the recruitment process. These laws include provisions for life imprisonment and the confiscation of the entire property of those found guilty of such malpractices. The Chief Minister noted that, out of the 900,000 total recruitments, more than 220,000 appointments were made within the Police Department alone. He further stated that a significantly improved security environment has been established in the state. The state has become free of riots and criminal elements, thereby attracting substantial investment. He recalled that prior to 2017, while the Chairman of the Recruitment Board would remain seated in his office, a "Uncle-Nephew" duo would go out specifically to extort money. He asserted that if one wishes to curb dishonest politicians and corrupt bureaucrats, the change must begin with oneself. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, AYUSH Minister Daya Shankar Mishra 'Dayalu', and Minister of State for Medical Education and Health Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, among others, were present on this occasion. **Individuals with Fake Degrees Led the Selection Process**

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also took a jibe at the Samajwadi Party (SP) government regarding the recruitment process. He stated that prior to 2017, almost every appointment process faced a stay order from the courts. The judiciary frequently issued scathing observations. Ineligible individuals would end up becoming the Chairman of the Commission. People holding fake degrees were at the helm of the selection process. Recruitment drives were compromised due to monetary transactions, and deserving candidates were denied opportunities. The Chief Minister remarked that it is the desire of every parent that their child, having received a good education, moves towards a secure and brighter future. To this end, they make every possible effort; however, when the expected results are not achieved, it is not only the dreams of that young individual that are shattered, but also the hopes of their parents and other family members. The shattering of a young person's dreams constitutes not merely an injustice against a single individual, but a betrayal of the future of generations to come.

What About Drug Testing?

The Chief Minister asserted that today, the state boasts the country's finest infrastructure, including expressways, highways, and other facilities. Departments that were previously virtually unknown to the public are now performing commendably. Every district now has a medical college, and the state is home to two AIIMS institutions. Prior to 2017, everything was left entirely to fate. The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department lacked the necessary equipment and laboratories to test for drug quality and food adulteration. Now, however, A-grade laboratories have been established at the divisional level. Previously, a total of 12,000 samples were collected annually across just five laboratories; now, that figure has risen to 55,000 samples. With the recruitment of 357 Junior Analysts (Drugs), the total strength of this cadre has increased from 44 to 401. Currently, the number of Junior Analysts (Food) stands at only 58; consequently, we have submitted a requisition for the recruitment of personnel for 417 such posts. At present, 36,000 food samples are collected annually—a number that is projected to exceed 108,000 following the completion of these recruitment drives.
