Tech News: Keeping in mind the convenience of common citizens, the Government of India has simplified the process of downloading Aadhaar cards. Now, people can also get their Aadhaar cards directly through WhatsApp. To this end, the government has added a new feature to the MyGov Helpdesk chatbot. This allows WhatsApp users to download their Aadhaar cards and other documents without visiting any additional apps or websites.

This feature is proving to be extremely helpful for the millions of Indians who use WhatsApp for everyday communication. Following UIDAI and DigiLocker, WhatsApp now becomes another official platform where citizens can obtain digital copies of their important documents.

Digital revolution

Previously, downloading an Aadhaar card required the UIDAI website or the DigiLocker app. But now, with the help of WhatsApp, this process has become much faster and more convenient. This change is especially beneficial for those who rely more on simple means like WhatsApp rather than technical apps.

Steps To Download Aadhaar On WhatsApp

To use this service, first save the official MyGov Helpdesk WhatsApp number +91-9013151515 on your phone. Send “Hi” or “Namaste” to begin, then select DigiLocker services. Confirm your DigiLocker profile and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile for verification. After successful verification, a list of documents will appear. Choose Aadhaar Card, and instantly you will receive your Aadhaar in PDF format on WhatsApp.

Key Precautions And User Benefits

Before availing this service, ensure your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar and that you have an active DigiLocker account. Remember, only one document can be downloaded at a time, and Aadhaar must already be linked in DigiLocker. This service is fully secure and built with user privacy in mind. With this step, India takes a giant leap in digital empowerment, giving citizens quick and hassle-free access to essential documents like the Aadhaar card.
