Apple Rumours: iPhone 18 May Arrive in Spring 2026 with New Chip, Camera Upgrades (X)

New Delhi: Apple could be planning a significant shift in how it releases its flagship phones. Reports suggest the next-generation iPhone 18 might arrive in spring 2026, rather than the usual September launch window. If true, this would mark a notable change in Apple's long-standing product cycle.

According to sources, Apple may bring the more affordable version of the iPhone 18 series to market months earlier than expected. This move may coincide with a broader revamp of Apple's release calendar, potentially realigning flagship and "e"-series models to different seasons.

What will power the new iPhone?

The heart of the new device is expected to be Apple's next-generation chip, likely called the A20 Bionic. This processor is built on advanced fabrication technology, promising faster performance and better energy efficiency than the current A19 chip used in the iPhone 17 series.

Early rumours also suggest that Apple might standardise higher RAM across the lineup and improve both battery life and display performance. More RAM could help with multitasking and future features in iOS.

What about the cameras?

Camera upgrades are expected to be a key selling point. Apple may retain the popular 48-megapixel main camera on standard models, but boost image processing for clearer and more detailed shots. Meanwhile, higher-end iPhone 18 Pro models could get more advanced systems, possibly including variable aperture technology, something that helps improve photos in low light and offers greater creative control.

There are also whispers that Apple will tweak the front camera and Face ID setup. Some reports say Apple may reduce the size of visible sensors by moving parts beneath the display, giving users more screen space.

Will the launch plan really change?

Shifting the standard iPhone 18 to spring would be a break from tradition. Apple has usually unveiled its flagship phones in September for more than a decade. This year's possible schedule tweak could be part of a new strategy to spread launches throughout the year.
