New Delhi: A Chinese robotics company, MirrorMe Technology, has claimed that its humanoid robot, named Bolt, is the fastest robot in the world. A humanoid robot refers to a robot that can walk on two legs like a human. MirrorMe Technology says that Bolt can cover a distance of 10 meters in just one second. This robot weighs 75 kg and is 5 feet 7 inches tall.

MirrorMe shared a video on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The video shows a race between a human and the robot, where the human stumbles and falls, while Bolt demonstrates incredible speed, covering 10 meters in just one second. This capability sets Bolt apart from other robots.

What are key features of the Bolt Robot?

- It can run at a top speed of 10 meters per second.

- During testing, the robot outran a human.

- Bolt weighs 75 kg and is 5 feet 7 inches tall.

- Bolt's gait is similar to that of a human.

- It moves its arms and head to maintain balance.

Why was Bolt created?

According to media reports, MirrorMe created Bolt because the company wants to build not just robots, but super robots. They aim to create robots that can perform as well as or even better than humans in sports. According to the report, the person running on the treadmill with the robot in the video shared on X is the company's owner. These robots have set records

Have these robots set records?

MirrorMe's other robot, Black Panther II, has previously completed a 100-meter race in just 13.17 seconds. Even robots from the renowned company Boston Dynamics haven't achieved such speed. It is believed that robots like Bolt could assist athletes in their training in the future. However, the interesting thing about this story is that Bolt has only been tested in the lab so far. It remains to be seen how fast it can run in real-world conditions.

The world's first humanoid robot games were held in China last year. There, a humanoid robot named Tien Kung completed the 100-meter race in 21.5 seconds.

MirrorMe is not a very old company. It was founded in 2024. Its headquarters are in Shanghai. Zhejiang University is part of its core team.

MirrorMe has robots like Baobao, Apollo, and Black Panther II. However, none of them are currently available for commercial use.
