These jobs have been posted on LinkedIn and other professional sites. This is the reason why users felt that maybe TikTok can return to India again.
In June 2020, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok. There were many reasons behind this, including concerns about data security, fear of data transfer to China and threat to national security.
After the TikTok ban, many local short video apps came to India, Moj, Josh, MX TakaTak gained a lot of popularity. But Instagram Reels got the most benefit. Today it has become the most popular platform for short videos in the country.
The company's new hiring in India indicates that it is still keeping an eye on the market here. For a possible return, TikTok will have to create local data servers in India.
