Just think of how surprised people would be to learn that the meat they were eating was actually cat meat instead of mutton. A gang of persons known as "Narikuravars" is allegedly kidnapping cats in Chennai's Perambur neighborhood, slaughtering them, and then selling the flesh to eateries.

Even though a similar case of missing cats occurred in the neighborhood in 2018, the story has gained attention again because of a fresh social media video showing cat stealing.

The case in hand

There are reports that Narikuravars in Perambur, Chennai, are kidnapping helpless cats for their meat. A person who feeds stray cats on Chennai's Spur Tunk Road recently saw someone catching stray cats at night near Kilpauk. Upon being questioned, the individual admitted to selling the cats to roadside vendors all throughout the city for their meat.
