Viral news: The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was the venue for a star-studded spectacle during the India vs England 5th T20 International match yesterday. A host of distinguished guests, including Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, his elder son Akash Ambani, and billionaire industrialist Ajay Piramal, were seen in the stands. Among the high-profile attendees were Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and his son-in-law, former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

India’s dominant victory: A 150-Run triumph

India sealed a commanding 150-run victory against England, clinching the series 4-1. Batting first, India posted a daunting total of 247 for nine, driven by an explosive knock from Abhishek Sharma. His scintillating 135 runs off 54 balls, including 13 sixes, laid the foundation for India’s dominance. The remarkable innings was enough to elicit a rare moment of celebration from Mukesh Ambani, the usually reserved chairman of Reliance Industries, as he witnessed Sharma’s assault on England’s bowlers.

Rishi Sunak’s support for England despite the loss

Rishi Sunak, who attended the match with his father-in-law Narayana Murthy, struck a balance between his loyalties as the former UK Prime Minister of Indian origin. Despite England’s heavy defeat, Sunak took to Instagram to share a selfie and a message of encouragement for the team.

“Tough day for England at the Wankhede, but I know our team will come back stronger. Congratulations to Team India on the win,” wrote Sunak. He also expressed his appreciation for meeting England’s captain Jos Buttler and India’s star Suryakumar Yadav before the match. “Despite the result, it was an honour to meet Jos Buttler and Suryakumar Yadav before the match and a pleasure to watch cricket with my father-in-law,” Sunak added.

The stylishly dressed guests added an extra layer of glamour to the match. Narayana Murthy and Rishi Sunak were photographed in formal blazers and shirts, while Mukesh Ambani opted for a casual yet chic look in a cream-coloured full-sleeved t-shirt. Akash Ambani, showing his support for Team India, sported an India jersey. The Ambanis were joined by Ajay Piramal, whose son Anand Piramal is married to Isha Ambani, Mukesh Ambani’s daughter.

A glimpse of Sunak and Murthy in India

Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty, currently visiting India from the UK, were earlier spotted at the Jaipur Literature Festival, where Akshata shared the stage with her mother Sudha Murty.
