Viral: Recently, a video was shared by IFS officer Parveen Kaswan, showing a shocking moment when a man and an elephant crossed paths in a forest. Initially heart-stopping, the clip takes a turn that raises a question by Kaswan, "Identify the animal in this video."

From chase to mockery: What the video reveals

The video starts with a man running down a forest road as an elephant charges behind him. At first glance, it appears to be a terrifying chase, with the man trying to escape the massive animal. However, moments later, the narrative flips. The man suddenly stops, turns toward the elephant, and begins taunting it. He pretends to attack, jumps side to side, and intentionally agitates the animal.

Amidst jeering and cheering voices from onlookers, the elephant appears visibly stressed and retreats toward its herd. The man’s actions, far from defensive, highlight an unsettling disregard for the animal’s well-being.

IFS officer condemns the incident

The behavior of the man was criticized by Kaswan on both the ethical and practical implications behind the harassment of wildlife. While writing the caption, he pointed out that "You are probably young and you might be able to outrun elephants. However, the agitated animals do not remain calm the following days after witnessing other people. Do not annoy wild animals for your enjoyment.

Based on Kaswan, such an intelligent creature as the elephant is affected by human relationships. Many of its changes in behavior are hence brought about by harassment and create much stress and aggressive nature over subsequent days, potentially posing a threat to the animals themselves and to other humankind that may come across them later.

The dangers of teasing wildlife

The warning by the IFS officer highlights the larger issue of unethical human-animal interactions. Such incidents, though amusing or harmless to some, can have serious repercussions. Wild animals, especially elephants, rely on peaceful coexistence with humans, and disturbing this balance can lead to dangerous confrontations and long-term harm.
