New Delhi: The theatrics of Chandrika Dixit popularly known on social media as the 'Vada Pav Girl' show no signs of ending. She constantly makes provocative statements to ensure she remains in the headlines day after day. Following a controversy surrounding her marriage to her husband, Yugam Gera, Chandrika has been hogging the limelight through a series of controversial remarks. Recently, during a podcast appearance, she made a statement that triggered a wave of trolling. Chandrika had asserted that she would be willing to sleep with anyone if it meant being able to provide for her child.

Why has Chandrika Broken Her Silence?

Fed up with the criticism, Chandrika posted a new video on Instagram to respond to her detractors. True to form, the video opens with a dramatic skit. A "mystery man" appears, grabs her face, and angrily confronts her: "You’re willing to sleep in anyone’s bed just to raise your child? Is your mindset really that cheap?" At that moment, Chandrika tells him to leave and, turning to address her haters, challenges the very nature of their thinking.

How did Chandrika School Her Haters?

Chandrika stated: "You people are just churning out videos about anyone and anything solely for the sake of views. You latched onto just one specific remark of mine. You didn't listen to the full three-and-a-half-hour podcast; I said so many things during that conversation. Sometimes my street cart gets confiscated; other times, my shop is taken away. I had said: 'I’ll pick up bricks and do manual labor. I’ll cook rotis to earn a living. As long as there is life left in me, I will do whatever it takes. I won't take my own life. I am not that weak.' What exactly did I say wrong? Yet, you people—just for the sake of views—zeroed in on a single line. You people ruthlessly tear apart a person's character. You subject people to such severe mental harassment. It’s a good thing I am strong. I will do whatever is necessary to survive—but I will not die."

What Exactly Had Chandrika Said?

In the video, she had stated: "Speaking as a mother—and this is a significant statement—if raising my child requires me to sleep with someone, I will do even that. But I will provide for my child. I am not wrong. I have firmly resolved in my mind that I simply have to work."

In a podcast, Chandrika stated that she is a street vendor. She vowed to do whatever it takes—never losing heart in life—and is willing to undertake any task, from lifting bricks to making rotis. It is reported that, while saying this, she even experienced an emotional breakdown during the interview.
