New York: There is the weight loss story of 39 year old Jesse Ramos Jr. from California, which proves the power of love. Jessie was always called 'Gordo' (fat), but love with a fit boy changed that. He went from 116kg down to around 71kg – a total of 45kg less! This journey is an example of diet, workout and consistency. Let us see in details. (All facts from the article.)

From Junk Food to Fitness

Jesse's life changed at the age of 17, when he got a fast food job. Burgers every day, cheese, and 15 beers a week – weight reached 116 kg. But after liking a fit man, he decided, "I have to look attractive!" Love inspired them, and the rest is history.

Before and after: at a glance

Parameters Before After
Weight 116 kg ~71 kg
Diet Style Junk Food, Beer High Protein, Low Carb
Activity Passive Strength + Cardio
Motivation None Love Self-Confidence

There was no clear timeline for the transformation, but it happened gradually – starting with diet, then adding workouts.

How did he do it?

  • Diet Change: Bye-bye to fast food, sweet drinks and beer! Instead of these, eggs, pulses and vegetables (less rice), chicken/fish, salad and healthy snacks. Adopted calorie deficit – eat less, but do not remain hungry. Jessie says (meaningfully), "It's not just diet or workout, it's a combination of both and consistency."
  • Workout Routine: Start with light walk, then brisk walk/jogging (cardio) and weight training. This builds muscles and boosts metabolism. Staying active every day – no shortcuts!

Challenges and overcome

It was not easy to give up old habits—craving for junk food, addiction to beer. But motivation (that special person!) helped. Jessie learned: Be consistent, take breaks, get enough sleep.

Tips from Jessie:

  • Diet Tip: Cut out sweets and fried foods immediately! Increase protein, control carbs. Count calories, but enjoy.
  • Fitness Tip: Start with walks, add weights. Manage stress – This is a major reason for weight gain.
  • Life Tip: Adequate sleep, daily movement. Love or set a goal – it does the magic!
