The practice involves soaking these condoms in warm water and consuming the infused liquid, purportedly keeping them intoxicated for hours.

Reports indicate a big rise in the consumption of flavored condoms among the youth, leading to a notable increase in their sales across Durgapur. This alarming trend only came to light upon observing the sudden spike in condom purchases in the area.

A student stated that this unconventional form of intoxication, prevalent among the youth residing in Durgapur. With many students accustomed to various addictions like alcohol and cigarettes, flavored condoms have gained popularity due to their affordability compared to traditional intoxicants.

Condoms' easy availability in medical stores without the need for a prescription, coupled with their portability, contributes to their allure among students. This accessibility factor has fueled their consumption, particularly in areas like Durgapur City Centre, Bidhannagar, Benachity, and Muchipara.
