Trending News: A viral video from Bengaluru has once again highlighted the city’s deteriorating road conditions. The video clip, shared on Instagram by content creator Lakshman Goswami, shows him helping a Rapido passenger stuck on a heavily waterlogged road. In the video, Goswami is seen riding his motorbike when he comes across a flooded stretch where several vehicles were struck in muddy water. A Rapido driver and his female passenger were stuck at the roadside. The woman asked him to cancel the ride, saying she would rather walk the rest of the way to the destination.

Goswami decided to intervene. “How will you go from here?” he asked. She replied, “I have to.” He offered to assist, saying, “Let me help you cross this road.”

'It's like a submarine': Goswami

The video shows Goswami offering the woman a lift on his bike through the flooded area. While passing through, he joked, “It’s like a submarine.” After safely reaching the other side, he said with a smile, “Give me five-star ratings, ma’am.” The light-hearted rescue has gone viral, getting over 1.6 million views. The video has been shared widely, including by the X page Karnataka Portfolio, which used it to point out the city’s poor infrastructure. The X post called the road a “submarine road” and added, “This isn’t a village path; it’s the Marathahalli–Kadubeesanahalli Road, one of the busiest in the city. There is no proper blacktop, no concrete, just an uneven muddy track full of potholes and dirty water.” It also said thousands of commuters, mainly tech workers, face this daily, calling it a “failure of civic responsibility.”

Public reactions online

The video has triggered many reactions on Instagram. One user asked, “Is this Bengaluru’s tech hub or Venice?” Another joked, “Rapido should have boats too.” Many praised Goswami, with comments like, “Respect to the biker for helping when no one else did” and “Hats off to this man.” Others pointed out, “We pay so many taxes, yet the roads are like this.”
