New Delhi: Buying Tata Motors cars has become more expensive starting today—April 1. The company had previously announced its intention to hike the prices of its vehicles. Now, the specific details regarding the price increases across its various models have also been revealed. It is worth noting that the company holds a significant presence in the B-segment (sub-4m) vehicle category and is also actively expanding its footprint in the C-segment. The company plans to launch several new vehicles in the near future to strengthen its product portfolio and further broaden its range in terms of powertrain options and other features.

Any price hike by Tata Motors?

Regarding the new pricing for the company's products, Tata Motors has decided to implement a price hike of up to 1.09% across its vehicle lineup. Although no specific reason has been officially cited for this price increase, it can likely be attributed to rising input costs. Detailed information regarding the price hike for each specific model—and its impact on the base model's pricing—is provided below.

The prices of certain vehicles have remained unchanged, with their base prices staying exactly as they were previously. This list includes the Harrier Petrol, Harrier Diesel, Safari Petrol, Safari Diesel, and Sierra Diesel models. The base prices for all these vehicles remain identical to their previous levels.

In percentage terms, the highest price hike among the base variants has been applied to the Tigor, increasing by 1.09%. This translates to a monetary increase of ₹6,000, raising its base price from ₹5,48,990 to ₹5,54,990 (ex-showroom). The Punch follows next, having witnessed a price increase of approximately ₹5,000. For the base variant, this represents a 0.89% hike, pushing its price from ₹5,59,990 to ₹5,64,990 (ex-showroom).

Next in line is the Nexon, the base variant of which is now priced at ₹5,100 higher than before. Its new price is ₹7,36,990, which was previously ₹7,31,890 (ex-showroom). This represents a 0.7% increase. The prices of the Safari Diesel have also been hiked. Its starting price is now ₹14,74,990, up from the previous ₹14,66,290. This constitutes an increase of ₹8,700, which is equivalent to approximately 0.59%.

What about price of the Tiago?

The price of the Tiago also saw an increase in April 2026; its base variant now starts at ₹4,59,990, compared to the previous ₹4,57,490. This is a hike of ₹2,500, amounting to approximately 0.55% (ex-showroom). The lowest price hike was observed in the Curvv SUV, increasing by approximately 0.45% for the base variant; this raised the base price from ₹9,65,690 to ₹9,69,990 (ex-showroom).

Not all Tata Motors vehicles experienced a uniform price hike during the month of April 2026. In fact, the price of one specific car was actually reduced in April 2026. The company has cut the price of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback. Its price was reduced by up to 0.04%, bringing its base price down from ₹6,30,390 to ₹6,29,990. This represents a marginal reduction of ₹400. This price cut for the Altroz suggests that its sales figures have been declining over time.
