Hindustan Power has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited on Wednesday. The PPA covers a 435 MW DC solar‑PV project to be built in Uttar Pradesh and will supply power for the next 25 years. The company has also opened an on‑site office and begun early work.

Big Boost to UP’s Renewable Energy Goals

This 435 MW DC solar initiative is a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s push toward cleaner power, helping the state move closer to its target of 22,000 MW renewable capacity by 2026–27. The project was awarded in April 2025 through a transparent bidding process by UPPCL, and it is expected to bring clean electricity, job opportunities, and sustainable growth to local communities.

Project Execution Underway

Hindustan Power has already launched on‑ground work, including coordinating with stakeholders, mobilising workforce, and preparing the site. Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, said, “We are going full speed to ensure every step—from land development to coordination with local groups—is done smoothly and on time.”

The work at the site includes lining up teams, engaging with local partners, and setting up infrastructure. The company describes this project as a key part of its larger strategy to grow across India’s renewable energy market.

Supporting India’s Clean Energy Vision

This solar project supports Hindustan Power’s long-term goal of reaching a 5 GW renewable energy portfolio. It also aligns with India’s broader aim to transition toward sustainable and clean sources of power. The company is recognised as one of India’s leading integrated energy firms, with strong focus on renewables and innovation, contributing significantly to the national energy transformation.
