USA TRUMP

International News: Political turmoil has intensified over the files related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, the main accused in the infamous sex trafficking case in America. On Wednesday, a House subcommittee voted in favor of issuing summons to the US Justice Department. The special thing was that this proposal was supported by three Republican MPs along with the Democrats, which has come as a big shock to Trump supporters.

After this action, it has become clear that the pressure of the Democrats regarding the disclosure of files related to Epstein has now reached a decisive point. Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee has also sent a summons to Epstein's former girlfriend and convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell. She has been asked to appear before the committee in August and testify.

Three Republicans Back Democrats

In a House subcommittee meeting on Wednesday, Democrats proposed issuing summons to the Justice Department. Three Republican MPs also voted in favor of this proposal, due to which it passed by a majority of 8-2.

“I’ve never handled a subpoena like this before. It’s a really interesting case,” said Clay Higgins (Louisiana), the subcommittee’s Republican chairman. He voted against the resolution and declined to comment on the timeline for issuing the subpoena.

"What is Trump hiding?": Democrats

Democrats are using this issue as a weapon against Trump. Committee Democrat member Robert Garcia said, "Democrats are focused on transparency and fighting against the corrupt politics of Donald Trump. Why doesn't Trump want to release the Epstein files? What is he hiding?"

He added that the victims' identities would be removed from the files, but Republicans demanded that only "credible" information be released, a term that Trump has used publicly.

Speaker Mike Johnson postponed the voting

House Speaker Mike Johnson had said that the Trump administration is already working towards releasing the files, so there is no need for a separate vote on it. But Democrats rejected this argument. Pennsylvania Democrat MP Summer Lee said, "These people are leaving the work of Parliament and sending us home early because they do not want to vote on this issue.

This is a matter of transparency, something that Republicans themselves have been raising in the elections."House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said, “Why are Republicans not making the Epstein files public? It seems like they are still protecting the rich and influential criminals, even if they are child sex offenders.”

Parties Split Over Trump’s Bill

This statement came at a time when both parties are planning their campaign strategy for the upcoming elections. While Republicans are calling Trump's bill containing big tax breaks and spending cuts a "beautiful law for economic development," Democrats are calling it a "gift for the rich."

Appeal by Raw Khanna

California Democrat Congressman Ron Khanna said, "This is a fundamental question of whether our government is in the pocket of the rich and powerful or whether it is working in the best interests of ordinary Americans." Khanna has also introduced a bipartisan bill aimed at making the Epstein files public.

Republicans counterattack

At the same time, Republican leaders have alleged that the Democrats are raising this issue only for political gain. They reminded that the Justice Department continued the investigation of the Epstein case even when Democrat President Joe Biden was in the White House.

However, Trump's Justice Department also sought to make the grand jury testimony in the case public, which was rejected by a federal court in Florida on Wednesday. Another similar records request is still pending in New York.
