‘Insulting His Own Country’: PAK Army Chief Asim Munir Trolled for Calling India a Mercedes and Pakistan a Dump Truck (Image Source: ChatGPT/Representative Image)
In a shocking and unusual comparison, Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, described India as a gleaming Mercedes speeding down a highway, while calling Pakistan a dump truck loaded with junk. Speaking at an event in the United States's Florida, Munir admitted to several harsh truths about his own country while also issuing threats to India, warning of the consequences if the two 'vehicles' were to collide.
While in Tampa, Florida, Munir joined a formal black-tie dinner organised by Pakistani businessman Adnan Asad, who serves as Pakistan’s honorary consul there. The event, marked by anti-India sentiment and religious hardline rhetoric, saw Munir vent his frustration after Pakistan’s setback in the recent 'Operation Sindoor.' Munir warned that if India’s actions threatened Pakistan’s existence, Pakistan would drag “half the world” down with it.
He made a bold remark on the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that Pakistan would let India build dams and then destroy them with '10 missiles,' adding that the country has plenty of missiles.
The Pakistan Army Chief is known for his religiously hardline image, being the country’s first army chief educated in a madrasa. He often uses religious examples to justify his views. At the dinner, Munir elaborated on his “Mercedes vs dump truck” analogy, saying if the heavily loaded truck hit the fast-moving luxury car, “whose loss would be greater? He also defended the military’s role in Pakistan’s politics and strategic decisions, claiming politics is too serious to be left to politicians alone.
Touching on US-India relations, Munir suggested Pakistan should master the art of balancing between rival powers. He even praised former US President Donald Trump, revealing Pakistan had nominated him for a Nobel Prize. Munir, during his visit, joined the farewell event for US CENTCOM chief General Michael Kurilla, greeted the new commander Admiral Brad Cooper, and held meetings with top US political and military leaders along with Pakistani community members. He also invited US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Cane to visit Pakistan and met defense chiefs from other countries.
