Tsunami Strikes Japan and Russia Following Intense Earthquake Shocks (Social media)
International News: A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 struck Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula in the Far East today. This huge quake sent shockwaves through the Pacific region, and many countries quickly issued tsunami alerts.
Experts say this is the strongest earthquake in the area since 1952. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed the high magnitude, warning of potential danger to several coastlines.

Officials are concerned that waves could reach heights of up to 3 meters in certain areas, particularly along the coastlines of Russia and Ecuador.
Throughout the day, at least six more earthquakes were recorded near Kamchatka, ranging from 5.4 to 6.9 in magnitude. While not as strong as the main quake, they added to public concern and emergency response efforts.

In Hawaii, emergency sirens were activated, and people were told to move to higher ground.
The Indonesian Meteorology Agency also issued a warning. Though waves in Indonesia are expected to be small (below 0.5 meters), coastal regions like Papua, North Maluku, and Gorontalo were advised to stay alert.
In many affected regions, people are leaving beaches and moving inland. Emergency services are on standby. Authorities everywhere are asking people to stay informed and not panic.
