International News: US President Donald Trump indicated that the US and India are very close to a trade deal. During a meeting with Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in the Oval Office, Trump said that India will soon open its market to American companies. Trump reiterated that the talks between the two countries are in the final stages and a concrete agreement could emerge soon.

America has trade agreements with many countries

In an interview, Trump said that America has made excellent trade agreements with many countries. An important agreement can be made with India soon. He said that I just have to send a letter and after that letter the agreement will be finalized. In that we will fix the duty from 20% to 35%.

India Sticks to Interests, Not Deadlines

Amidst this statement, a delegation of India's Commerce Ministry has reached America for new trade talks. A few days ago, India's Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had clarified that India will not enter into a trade agreement under the pressure of any deadline. According to the report, he had said that any agreement will be acceptable only if it is in line with the national interests of the country and is finalized after thorough negotiations.

What is America's goal?

Trump also said that America's aim is to get direct access to Indian markets. He said that earlier America did not get proper access for trade in countries like India, but now the doors are opening for American companies through tariff policies. Trump stressed that his administration's trade policy, especially the strategy of imposing tariffs, has been beneficial for American trade. He said that earlier we were not allowed to enter many countries, but now our reach is increasing. India and America are considering a limited trade agreement in which it is proposed to keep the tariff on some products and services below 20%.
