New Delhi: Today is no less than a big test for millions of youth. UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2026 is being held today i.e. on 24th May across the country. Divided into two shifts, the morning shift of this examination will run from 9:30 to 11:30 am and the afternoon shift from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. But the real test starts even before you enter the examination hall.
It is mandatory for the candidates of morning shift to reach the center by 9 o'clock and those of afternoon shift by 2 o'clock. UPSC has said in very clear words that those coming late will not be allowed inside. No hearing, no second chance.
Only two things will be required at the center: the admit card and a government photo ID. Carry Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN card or driving license, whatever. Everyone else is out. Mobiles, smartwatches, earphones, Bluetooth devices, pagers—none of these will go in. Even pens, pencils, books and notes are banned.
And one important thing: there will be no arrangement for storing luggage at the center. If you bring banned things with you, you will have to leave them outside at your own risk. If caught inside, you will be removed from the exam.
DMRC has given relief for the candidates going to appear for the exam in Delhi. Today, service on the entire metro network will start from 6 am. Pink Line, Magenta Line and Gray Line trains will be available on all three from 6 pm. DMRC has shared this information on its official X account.
There is no assurance of traffic in a city like Delhi even on Sunday. So leave as soon as possible. Admit Card and ID – Check whether these two are in the bag or not before closing the door. Because forgetting them means a year's preparation ends in one morning. Keep an eye on upsc.gov.in for every latest information related to the exam.
